Philippians 4:4-9

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

8Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.


Recently when I was at a point where the last thing I wanted to do was Rejoice in the Lord, someone spoke this passage to me. Being the stubborn girl I am I listened to them, but never opened up my bible to meditate on it. This morning after my morning coffee I decided to give it a shot. Wow, does this passage speak to me right now. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." I am one of the most anxious people I know and right here it is saying to be anxious about NOTHING! If we present our requests to the Lord we will walk away with peace and our hearts and minds will be guarded. The Lord is so great! He knows exactly what you need to hear and when you need to hear it. Putting this into practice is going to be hard...prayers please :)

What a great post Elizabeth! I will definitely be praying with you. It's hard to not worry and be anxious about the things to come, but like you said.... He speaks so clear about that and says to be anxious about nothing :) I believe in you and I know God does. Let him have control...he knows and can do things so much better than we can!
