Joseph Robert Cuyar








Saturday morning Josh and I headed up to South Carolina to see our new nephew, Joseph Robert Cuyar. We made it there in good timing even though we drove in the rain the entire time! Oh my goodness, what a cutie he is!! Everyone was very happy to see us but they were exhausted! Earnie said they are going to call Joseph "Hootie", because he apparently likes to stay up a little more at night than during the day. He was loving getting to sleep in every one's arms. We had a wonderful relaxing day just hanging out with family. We really wish we lived closer to them! We are so happy for Joe and Laura Beth. Joseph is adorable and we can't wait until we get to see him again!!

Philippians 4:4-9

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

8Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.


Recently when I was at a point where the last thing I wanted to do was Rejoice in the Lord, someone spoke this passage to me. Being the stubborn girl I am I listened to them, but never opened up my bible to meditate on it. This morning after my morning coffee I decided to give it a shot. Wow, does this passage speak to me right now. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." I am one of the most anxious people I know and right here it is saying to be anxious about NOTHING! If we present our requests to the Lord we will walk away with peace and our hearts and minds will be guarded. The Lord is so great! He knows exactly what you need to hear and when you need to hear it. Putting this into practice is going to be hard...prayers please :)

Lately...


Josh and I are always keeping busy it seems! Josh has had his best month yet at work so I am very proud of him! I have about six weeks of my internship left. I guess I should really start crackin down on the job search.

We started a new church on Sunday. We were attending Oakleaf but we just weren't feeling very connected there. I think we were both wanting something a little more traditional and more like what we grew up in. We started at Tabernacle in downtown Cartersville. They were so welcoming and really made us feel like we were meant to be there. They have a newlywed's sunday school class that we will start attending on Sundays. Josh and I are very excited about this and know that God has some wonderful things in store for us in the future. We are still praying that Josh and I can become more connected here in Cartersville and maybe find some couple friends :)

We are loving the married life!! God is so good!

Mardi Gras 2009













My sister Chrissi, Becky, Brooke and I went to Mardi Gras in Mobile, Alabama. We had WAY too much fun! We got to go to two parades and two Balls. Chrissi was named the negotiator since by the end of the trip she talked our way out of MANY different situations. I am so blessed to have such wonderful friends. What a great weekend with the girls :)
