It's a BoY :)

As some of you may know, Josh and I went in for our 19 week ultrasound, with hopes that poppyseed would show us what he or she is! And right away, she said yup, it's a boy and that is very obvious! It was so neat to see him since the last time we saw him he was not even a 1/4 of an inch long and now he is looking more like a little human! Josh and I are super excited for a boy! We already had our names picked out so he is going to be Jakson Earnest Burfitt. We loved the name Jackson, but I wanted to make him a little bit different then all of the other Jacksons out there. Josh comes from a long line of Earnests, so we knew our first boy had to be an Earnest as well.

The Doctor said that everything is looking great as far as the baby's organs and everything on my end looks. We were thrilled to hear the good news. We ask that you continue to keep the three of us in your prayers.

It is also looking like our due date will now be November 26, which would mean he would be a Thanksgiving baby!!

We wanted to make the announcement to our family in a different way, so we had everyone come to dinner at On the Border the night of our appointment. I made cupcakes and dyed the inside of them blue. I told them that when they peel back the wrapper it would let them know if it was a boy or a girl. So after they were all passed out, everyone opened theirs to see that it was blue!! Most people thought I was having a girl so I knew it would surprise some people! Everyone was so thrilled :) I just have to take a minute to brag about my awesome family! Josh and I feel so blessed with a family that is always there for us and constantly shows us how much they love us! I really do thank the Lord everyday for placing me in such an amazing family and letting me marry into one as well. I LOVE MY FAMILY!!

We got some of the cutest outfits for little Jakson last night. He is going to have an adorable little wardrobe. I know Ash and Matthew are excited about handing lots of clothes down to us and so am I :)

The 4th of July

What a crazy but FUN weekend. Josh and I both had Friday off, so he went and played golf and I hung out at Chrissi's pool. When Josh was done with golf he came over to Chrissi's. We decided to spend the night there since we would all have to wake up early for the Peachtree and her place was a lot closer than our place. The next morning we woke up about 5am and got ready for the race. We had so much fun getting ready and heading there. Once we got there Josh headed for the 70,000's to run with Jason and Chrissi and I headed to the back of the heats for the 90,000's. We had so much fun running together and we actually did a lot better than we thought we would have done! I got a lot of "congrats" as people ran by us and Chrissi got a lot of "you can do it Newbie!" We were so happy we wrote things on our shirts because it made it so fun! After the race we found Josh and Jason and went and searched for food and drinks. Then we found Mom and Dad who had come to cheer us on!! After the race Bobby came and picked us up and took us back to chrissi's. Josh and I dropped his truck off at the square so that we could have it there later for a great tailgating spot for fireworks! Then we headed to Josh and Summer's pool for their 4th of July Party. There was lots of yummy bar-b-que and sides and delicious homemade icecream. It was a fun day of swimming and hanging out with family! After that we headed to the Marietta Square for fireworks and Marietta Pizza Company! What a long but fun day :) Sunday consisted of sleeping and being lazy!!

The Lake and celebrating the Fathers in my life :)

This past weekend was a busy but oh so fun weekend! Josh and I left on Friday about 3:00 and headed up to TN for the Burfitt Reunion. When we got up on Friday we checked into the hotel and then had a picnic with everyone under a pavilion by the lake. That is where the pretty pictures were taken infront of the gorgeous sunset. I got to meet some of the family that I haven't met yet. It was a fun night of enjoying family. Then we got up the next morning and got some tenderloin biscuits and headed to the golf course to play 12 holes. I was Josh's cheerleader and golfcart driver. It was my first time watching him play! He usually goes with business people, so I don't get asked to tag along. It was a hot one but lots of fun! Then after golf we headed to Josh's aunt and uncle's house to swim and eat a shrimp boil out by the pool. It was a lot of fun just hanging out with family that we don't get to see too often! Thanks to my mother-in-law for the pictures from this event!

We came home Saturday night and headed straight to my oldest brother's 30th birthday party at Pappasito's. That was so fun hanging out with everyone. I feel like we don't all get out like that too often so we really had a great time! We hung out at Josh and Summer's house after dinner. FUN TIMES :)

Then Sunday came...FATHER'S DAY! Happy Father's day to all the father's and father's to be in my life :) We woke up Sunday and Josh and I sat around together and ate breakfast and opened his presents. I just got him some clothes and candy since I couldn't find any gender mutual I LOVE DADDY shirts or bibs. We then headed to my parents house for another SHRIMP BOIL. Haha, it was delicious too though! All of my brothers and sisters were there! We always have a great time together. Josh got some sweet card's...I read them on the way home and teared up. I really can't believe he is about to be a daddy. So exciting but overwhelming at the same time! I am so proud of the man he is and I know that he is going to be a wonderful daddy! :) I can't wait to see it!

After my Mom and Dad's, we headed to the Burfitts. Josh and I picked up some Williamson Brothers bc Earnie wanted ribs for Fathers day. And of course, we were happy with that! There we just spent some one on one time with Mom and Dad Burfitt! It was a lot of fun! Also, while we were there we got some baby furniture. A family was donating some stuff to their church and mentioned that they had a baby crib, changing table, swing and highchair that they were wanting to give to a nice Christian family. So my in-laws said, well my son it about to have a baby! How awesome!! God is so good! We are so thankful, thank you!!

Another update, I got a job :) I am babysitting three days a week for a sweet family of two little girls! I am so excited and I know Josh is too! The littlest girl is a month old and adorable!! It is getting me so excited about having a little one soon!!

This week I am staying busy with VBS at night...I am teaching with Chrissi and this other lady and we are having a blast! Us three have fun together and the kids are too cute! Josh was helping but he left today for Vegas until Saturday! I am ready for him to come home now. I told him he better not come home with a missing tooth or with a tiger :) Hahah, I am a little obsessed with that movie!!

TWO MORE WEEKS until Poppyseed gets a real name :)

XOXO,

You and me go fishing in the dark...

Josh and I have a deal where atleast once a week we go out on a date. This gets us away from the distractions of the house (t.v, computer, chores, and so on..) We have done this since we got married and I love it. It works so great for the two of us. It just gives us "us" time and we always have so much fun. This week we decided to change it up and since I know how Josh loves to fish, I figured we could do it together! The plan was to pack a picnic but the chicken sandwiches I made would have been a lot better hot, so we ate at the house. Then headed down to the river. We picked us out a little spot and got our crickets out and fished! It was so much fun. We caught about 8 total..and they were little ones. But it was a lot of fun and a nice and quiet place where we could just talk :)

Also, we got the boat running this weekend :)
We took it out for a couple of hours on Saturday and had a blast. You can't tell from the picture below but Allatoona was PACKED!! I am sure poppyseed had a nice and bumpy ride!

A week at the Lake

Every year the Gernatt family goes to the beach for a week. This year they decided to change it up and go to the Lake. The house was on Lake Chatuge in Hiawasee, Ga. Most everyone went up on Saturday but I had to come up on Tuesday bc Josh and I were at the beach until Monday.

We had so much fun at the Lake. There was a main house and then four cabins. I stayed in a cabin with my immediate family. Matthew and Ashley brought the boat up so everyone had a blast skiing, wakeboarding, knee boarding, and tubing! And yes, I went tubing. I have had some people tell me that they didn't think that was good for my baby...but I don't really want other peoples opinions. Matthew took it very easy on me when I was tubing. It was basically just a joy ride behind the boat. The lake was so beautiful, surrounded by mountains and so peaceful. I saw one boat out the enitre time we were there! That is so different from Lake Allatoona.

I was really missing my hubby so everyday I would call him and ask him to come up on Friday. He would tell me that he would just have to see... :( After enough begging he couldn't take it anymore. Apparently I am good at ruining surprises bc he was going to surprise me the whole time but since I asked so much, he finally just told me that he was coming up on Friday. So friday night he headed up to the lake and got there about 9. We went down on the dock and fished for a little while with my dad and brother. After not catching much of anything we called it a night. The next day we cleaned up the place and packed and headed to a public site where we could take the boat out and picnic that afternoon. Josh and my brother knee boarded and skiied. It was a lot of fun spending time with family and being in the sun!

After this trip being immediately after my beach trip, I realized that I am a lake and mountain kind of girl! Don't get me wrong, I love the beach but I hate the sand and stickiness that comes with it! Give me a beautiful house with a pool and hot tub, on the lake, with a boat and I will be a happy girl :) Haha, that's not asking too much, is it?! Jk!

Anyways..now on to more lake adventures. Josh and I are headeed to the lake on friday with his family. We will only be there until Saturday night though. But we are excited :) I love vacations, even if they are short!

Here are some pictures from Lake Chatuge...
